Sam Valles, Principal

I am the Principal of Islands Elementary and a native of Arizona.  I have been an educator with Gilbert Public Schools for over 27 years and an administrator at all three levels: elemenary, junior high and high school.  My wife Dawn, is a reading specialist, in Gilbert Schools and I have two adult children that are GPS graduates.

Islands Elementary School was established in 1987 and has a long standing tradition of excellence.  We are a community Title I Elementary School for students in pre-kindergarten to sixth grade.  At Islands Elementary, we are committed to providing an environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported.  Our dedicated faculty and staff are passionate about fostering academic excellence and cultivating a love for lifelong learning.

I am fortunate to be working with a team of educators at Islands that is committed to inspiring excellence in every student by providing a learning environment that empowers young minds to reach their fullest potential.  Each day, we strive to foster a community where every child feels valued, challenged, and supported in achieving academic and personal success.
